CONCERT UPDATES : CELINE DION 2008 TAKING CHANCES TOUR IN MALAYSIA
Her initial date on 8th April was postponed to Sunday 13th April. Weather caused quite a worry for everyone as it was raining nearly everyday here at Kuala Lumpur, and by late afternoon that Sunday it started pouring cats and dogs. Fortunately by evening it stopped and the weather during the whole concert was pleasantly cooling and comfy that night.
These two pictures are not of hers during her concert in Malaysia, but those were the two costumes she wore on Sunday. Strangely she wore the first one throughout the whole night, and only changed to the yellow one for the last song during encore. Ths concert started off 1.5 hours late! Celine was not to blame, as usual we had to wait for the royalty/VVIP guests to arrive at their own leisure!
Celine sang most of her popular songs, including The Power Of Love, Because You Loved Me, I'm Alive, It's All Coming Back To Me Now, I Drove All Night, and lastly the must-sing Titanic song My Heart Will Go On. However I did not fancy her arrangments made on I'm Alive, and she did not sing another favourite of mine, That's The Way It Is. A superb vocal powerhouse, she did not disappoint all her fans, singing every low and high note effortlessly.
Choreography was a bit too ordinary, espcially when the stage deco and settings were not their prime focus. So to me visually it wasn't anything remarkable, it was a night for just enjoying Celine's beautiful vocals.
JAY CHOU WORLD TOUR 2008 - LIVE AT KUALA LUMPUR (Chinese)
Last night 23 February 2008 Jay Chou held his concert at Stadium Merdeka, part of his World Tour 2007/08. I reached there at about 7pm and the place was already bustling with people, particularly younger Chinese crowd. There was already a long queue stretching more than 20 meters just to buy his tour souvenirs!
The concert headed with a great start with screaming fans and fireworks. What impressed me most of all were the use of fireworks throughout the concert, making it really grand to watch.
There were different segments in the concert, he also spent a few songs performing each at both the right and left side of the stage, making sure his fans got to see more of him up-close.
Most of the songs he sang were from his more recent few albums, like 我很忙 (On The Run), 依然范特西 (Still Fantasy) & 十一月的蕭邦 (November's Chopin). But he also inserted a few of his older hits like 開不了口 (Can't Speak) and my all time favourite 安靜 (Silence).
These videos posted are not of his performances in Malaysia last night, still can't get hold of good quality ones that soon.
When it came to the end of the concert, the customary manifestation of fans' loyalty through the 'encore' portion, the concert ended up having 3 encores! Fans just refused to leave after the first two, and eventually after the third encore, they had to make an official announcement that the concert has already ended, to start dispersing the crowd.
Definitely worth paying for better seats in this concert :-) I'd go watch again if he returns to Malaysia for another tour!
