Here's one of the simple delights of the local Malay food you can find hidden modestly in Taman Permaisuri, Kuala Lumpur. Those familiar with the Hero Supermarket will find it eay to find this place. There's a Maybank behind the supermarket, and right opposite of the bank you will find a long strech of hawker stalls selling mostly Tom Yam and Malay food. Right at the far end of this strech you will find Nasi Ayam Ayam Dara, pretty known to the locals living nearby.

This modest family operating the business comes from Kota Bharu, Kuantan, and you'll be surprised to find a long queue of customers buying their famous Nasi Kukus Ayam Dara during the fasting month at the Pasar Ramadhan @ Velodrome. The rest of the time, they'll be selling in Taman Permaisuri.

The dish is pretty simple, but tasty and 'local' enough for you to get cravings for a nice, local plate of fragrantly cooked steam rice and crispy fried chicken once a while. And of course, they're reasonable priced.
